During my travels in Japan, I was always captured by the details of storefronts: the neighbourhood cat that would visit, or the handwritten signage, and the kind people who take care of it. They would serve as important landmarks and memories for me for years to come.

 

Submission Guidelines

Please email hello@patternsandportraits.com your submission with the requirements below!

Custom pieces start at $300~ depending on size and complexity.

This includes 2 sketches (1 Initial sketch + 1 revision sketch) and the final original painting securely packaged and shipped.

Requirements for Submission

  1. A clear photograph (or two) of the restaurant/storefront you wish to be painted. The view of the building should be positioned in the angle you wish to see it painted in. *If you do not have your own photo, you can also try pulling from the web.

  2. Your size preference: 9x12”(Starting at $300) or 10”x14”(Starting at $400)

  3. Share with me what is special about the place you’ve chosen! Your story makes the process all the more intimate. I will often try to incorporate little elements that reflect how you felt about the place. :-)

  4. Your name + city/country.

  5. If this is for a gift, please specify when you would want the painting delivered by.
    Paintings will be unframed. Should you require a frame, all paintings are sized to fit in a standard IKEA frame.

Selected submissions will require a $100 non-refundable deposit upon the start of the project.
